The device allows the testing of the magneto without the need for a stand alone magneto test bench. The device can be used at the work bench after working on the magneto and it can be used while the magneto is still on the engone. This can save hours of labor and reduce the need to send out the magneto for a simple bech test.

Proper use can aid in diagnosing ignition issues without removing the magneto.
